Girls cycling back home from school molested by 4 bike-borne men in UP

Two Class 8 girls were harassed in broad daylight by four bike-borne men while returning home from school in Uttar Pradesh’s Deoria. The shocking act was caught on a CCTV.
The girls, who were on bicycles, lost balance and fell. One of the boys then attempted to drag one of the girls towards a nearby paddy field. Terrified, the girls screamed for help. One of them managed to escape, while the other fell while trying to flee through the fields.
Hearing their cries, local residents rushed to the scene, prompting the four motorbike riders to flee. The girls were on their way home after taking an exam. The entire incident was captured by a CCTV camera installed in a nearby house.
Deoria Superintendent of Police (SP) Sankalp Sharma said, “We have received a report of two girls being harassed and followed by motorbike riders. Based on this, a case has been registered under relevant sections of the law. Five police teams have been formed, and we are reviewing the CCTV footage. The culprits will be arrested soon”.
